Fellow Parents, It occurred to us that we needed a format for you to post your own talking points, in addition to those we've already compiled (reposted here for your easy access). We thought it might also serve as a place for you to share the text from your emails. This is a tool for those purposes, to help you craft your own emails and prepare your own remarks if you are planning to speak at the School Board meeting on May 6th at 10:15am. Remember, you have 3 minutes to speak and need to prepare before arriving. While the meeting starts at 10:15am, be aware they won't call speakers until closer to 12:00pm. You still must call the main School Board number (see our home page for that number and email addresses for the key School Board personnel). Please share your talking points, questions, and information for the benefit of all Parkway parents as comments on this post as needed. - POPP

I have already placed my name on the waiting list to speak before the board. Having spoken before the school board in Miami, I can tell you that a good strategy would be to have 2-4 individuals from different parts of district to present our talking points. Each should come from an area represented by a different board member to demonstrate PMS's district-wide reach. There are 2 designated "comment" times, the 1st at 12 is filled, the 2nd is at end of meeting and there is a list. Each person has 3 minutes. There is a lot of parliamentary procedures we may be able to use to our advantage. Please contact me with questions.

Thank you, Mr. Gamarra. How can we contact you for more advice or to help our speakers get coordinated?
